VV26 Collection – A legacy engraved in wood, a story to wear

Tradition, innovation and excellence, our VV26 frames in a limited series !

It all begins in the silent cellars of the Champagne house Frerejean Frères, where the finest vintages are born. For an entire year, an oak barrel safeguarded their iconic cuvée, the VV26 Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru, giving it its woody aromas and unique patina. Once its work was complete, this barrel could have quietly disappeared, replaced by another… But we chose to extend its story.

Just as we did with our Carbonne case, crafted from a 9,500-year-old fossilized oak, we once again wanted to capture the essence of time. We carefully opened this barrel, cut its staves and worked the wood to reveal its finest expression. From this process were born our ultra-limited frames: the VV26 case, only 30 pieces, where each creation carries the memory of an exceptional wine and the artisanal craftsmanship that drives us.

From the vine to your eyes, from tradition to innovation, we offer more than a pair of glasses: a fragment of history to wear every day.

Our frames use the inner facing of this barrel, which held the precious nectar for one year and, as tradition dictates, remains sealed.

SHELTER   |   Our transparency charter

Our approach is focused on the artisans who craft the products and the environment in which they work.

Made in France

Because we are convinced that French eyewear craftsmanship is a unique heritage and a guarantee of quality, all of our wooden prescription glasses and wooden sunglasses are produced between Annecy and the Jura.

Origin of the wood

Our precious wood veneers are supplied by our partner Marotte. Each wood is carefully selected upstream in the production chain by sawyers from sustainable sources that meet the strict standards of the FSC label, ensuring the responsible management of resources for future generations.

Production

Shelter prioritizes quality, as well as controlled and responsible production. That is why all our suppliers operate with the same work ethic within just a few kilometers of one another.

Materials Used

All Shelter glasses are produced using precious and natural wood veneers, meaning they are neither agglomerated nor transformed. For our metal components, we have chosen high end surgical steel, stainless, durable and lightweight, which allows us to combine refined design with an extreme attention to detail.
